The start of a new project, I have been wanting to create a hover tank for some time. I found some concept art I am basing the design on, but as usual the design will probably change significantly by the end of the project.

I’ve made a bit of progress and it’s coming along well. I decided that each panel needed to have some bolts to make it feel more like a tank. I decided to use an inset bolt set into the surface, instead of the typical tank bolt that is attached to the outside of each panel. I feel like inset bolts always make things feel a bit more futuristic.

I’ve taken a radical departure from the original concept art I was basing the design on. The front of the tank now has a twin pylon type design. I’m actually getting pretty close to having the modeling done with just a few major design decisions left, and of course some detailing.
